Code of Conduct Policy (Events & In-Store)

At Gamers Emporium, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all members of our community. Whether you're here to play, shop, trade, or spectate, we expect all patrons, players, and staff to uphold the values of respect, fairness, and fun.

Expected Behavior

All individuals on Gamers Emporium premises or participating in any store-hosted events must:
  • Show Respect – Treat others with kindness and courtesy, regardless of age, skill level, identity, race, gender, orientation, or background.
  • Play Fair – Engage in honest, sportsmanlike conduct during all games and competitions. Cheating or rule manipulation will not be tolerated.
  • Follow Instructions – Respect staff, judges, and volunteers. Follow their directions during events and accept all official rulings.
  • Maintain Cleanliness – Keep personal and shared spaces clean. Dispose of garbage properly and treat store property with care.
  • Be Mindful of Others – Use appropriate language, maintain reasonable volume levels, and avoid disrupting other patrons or players.

Prohibited Behavior

The following actions are grounds for immediate warning, removal from the store, or banning:
  • Harassment or Bullying – Includes unwanted physical contact, name-calling, personal attacks, intimidation, or repeated unwanted attention.
  • Discrimination – Any expression of hate or exclusion based on race, religion, gender identity, sexuality, disability, or cultural background.
  • Cheating or Dishonesty – Tampering with game materials, falsifying scores, or any attempts to gain unfair advantage.
  • Theft or Vandalism – Stealing, damaging property, or altering store merchandise without permission.
  • Aggressive Behaviour – Yelling, profanity directed at others, or threatening language or conduct.
  • Substance Use – No drugs, alcohol, or weapons are allowed on the premises. Anyone under the influence will be asked to leave.

Enforcement
  • Warnings may be issued at the discretion of staff for minor infractions.
  • Serious or repeat offenses may result in removal from the premises or event, temporary bans, or permanent bans depending on severity.
  • All enforcement actions will be documented.

Reporting Concerns

We take community concerns seriously. If you experience or witness a breach of this policy, please report it to a staff member immediately. All reports will be handled with discretion and appropriate follow-up.

Commitment to Community
Gamers Emporium is more than just a store – it’s a hub for players, families, and fans to come together. This Code of Conduct helps ensure that everyone can enjoy that experience equally and safely.

Thank you for helping us create a respectful and welcoming space for all!

Event Registration

At Gamers Emporium, we aim to create organized and enjoyable events for all participants. To help us manage space, staffing, and supplies effectively, we ask all attendees to follow the guidelines below when registering for store events.

Event Registration Guidelines
  • Pre-registration is strongly encouraged for all events and may be required for limited-capacity or high-demand events such as Prereleases, tournaments, and D&D sessions.
  • Registration can be completed in-store, online (when available), or by contacting us directly.
  • Payment may be required at the time of registration to hold your spot.
  • If an event is full, a waitlist may be started. Players on the waitlist will be contacted if a space opens.
Arrival & Check-In
  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled event start time to check in.
  • Failure to check in by the event start time may result in your spot being given to someone on the waitlist.

Media & Photography PolicyGamers Emporium values the vibrant community we’ve built and often captures event highlights to celebrate and share our store’s activities. At the same time, we respect the privacy and comfort of all individuals in our space. This policy outlines our approach to taking and sharing photos and videos in-store and at events.
Photography & Video by Store Staff
  • Photos and videos may be taken during events for use on our website, social media, and promotional materials.
  • We aim to focus on general atmosphere, gameplay shots, or product displays—not identifiable close-ups of individuals—unless permission is granted.
  • Identifiable photos of minors (under 18) will only be used if parental or guardian consent is obtained in writing or verbally during the event.
Opting Out
  • If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please let a staff member know at the start of the event.
  • We will do our best to honor opt-out requests and avoid using any images where you may be visible.
  • You can also contact us at any time to request the removal of media featuring you.

Photography by Customers
  • We welcome customers to take pictures of their own games, decks, or cool moments!
  • However, we ask that you:
    • Ask permission before photographing or recording other people’s games, faces, or children.
    • Do not take disruptive photos or videos during serious competitive events or organized play unless approved by staff.
    • Avoid recording staff without consent.

Social Media Tags & Sharing
  • When posting photos taken at Gamers Emporium, feel free to tag us or use our store hashtags—we love seeing your experiences!
  • We reserve the right to remove tags or request takedowns if shared content misrepresents the store or violates community guidelines.

Protecting Our CommunityThis policy is in place to protect our patrons—especially minors—and foster a comfortable, respectful environment. We want everyone to enjoy their time in the store without concern for unwanted publicity.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us showcase the best of Gamers Emporium!
